A little background about how this came to be…
I was born and raised in Kansas and grew up running around the great outdoors hunting, camping, fishing, and so many more things that formed a love for nature. In the beginning of my college years, I was blown away when I read an article in an outdoor magazine about wildlife biologists. I never knew this kind of career existed and I promptly changed my major. Many years later - after working and schooling simultaneously - I graduated from Kansas State University with a dual major Bachelors of Science in Wildlife Biology & Management, and Fisheries Biology & Management. I have since had the pleasure to make a career out of my degree and live, work, and explore several states including Idaho, Oregon, and Alaska.
Throughout the years I’ve been a bit of a late adopter of new technology but still found myself in beautiful surroundings where I was constantly saying “I sure wish I had a good camera”. Well, during the pandemic, I was still doing wildlife field work and was in a place that I could put the stimulus checks we all got towards a “real” camera and lens. Since then, and with the help of many mentors, I continue to learn, grow, and hone my skills to digitally pursue all manner of creatures and nature all year long.
So why have a business and a website?
I thoroughly enjoy photography just for myself but I also want to share the adventure with others. Social media has been, and will continue to be an excellent place to do just that, but as time goes on, more people continue to encourage me to offer the option of purchasing a physical print that they can hold in hand. Also, as the adventure continues and my knowledge and skills increase, I would like to be able to grow in quality of photos as well. In order to upgrade equipment and offset a small portion of the costs of this beautiful hobby, I’m offering a way to - as the old adage goes - “kill two birds with one stone” with prints and merch.
With all of that, I want to sincerely say thank you for the kindness and encouragement I’ve received. I don’t know where all of this will go, but thanks for sharing in the adventure with me.
